0079 Shop & home of the Roberts family, Alongside Bodnant Forge. Near Penisa Crossroads. Mrs Mary Norton (née Roberts) as a young woman is sitting on the wall, around 1911. These houses have been demolished and replaced by "Bodnant Cottage".

Waterfall Cabin. In the 1920s it was opened as a shop for Walter Parker by his father Mr Harry Parker, landlord of the Red Lion. Walter suffered a lot of illness and died aged 31. Walter's late brother, Harry, contributed some of the pictures for this website.

0590 Rob Hughes in his shop.
W.R.Hughes Draper & Grocer. Inside the shop, with William Robert (Rob) Hughes, the owner. In the late 1920s or early 1930s he and his wife Sarah Ellen moved from this shop because of ill health and opened another at Bod Hyfred, Penisa, not far from Voel Coaches. Rob died in 1953 aged 66. Sarah Ellen died in 1970 aged 79.
